Whanganui's loss is the University of California Berkeley's gain, as the lure of a full scholarship takes Paparangi Hipango overseas
Paparangi has been head hunted by a number of American Universities including Yale and Princeton but she has chosen the University of Claifornia, Berkley campus.
As an ex Wanganui Collegiate and Junior International representng New Zealand in the Junior coxless four in 2007 and the Junior Quad in 2008 and 2009. She won a bronze medal in 2008. She has a bright future ahead in rowing and New Zealand will benefit from her experiences in the US.
